The Danish Center for Social Economy
The Danish Center for Social Economy - Knowledge | Analysis | Perspective. The center is the national body - and voice for social enterprises and social entreprenurship
The Center for Social Economy specialises in creating the all-round support and advocacy that allows social enterprise to flourish in Denmark: From business advice to network building to development of local and regional growth strategies to proving the positive impact of social enterprises at local and national levels. The center aims to create a culture of social enterprise where new ideas can quickly take root and grow.
Our working principles:
- The center is an independent, non-political practice centre build on 3 legs:
- Knowledge: We gather knowledge and experience from our work with social enterprises, NGO's, municipalities, private companies etc.
- Analysis: We makes a great number of analysis based on our experience from our work with practice
- Perspective: We delivers perspectives and recommendations for the future based on our analysis and knowledge from pracsis - through contributions to policy making and through working with public affairs
- The center works with existing oganisations: Every area has different social challenges and different resources that can help solve them. We work with local partners to help social entrepreneurs unlock their potential
- The center specialises in win-win partnerships: We work across sectors to make sure that private businesses, the public sector and local NGOs and charities gain concrete benefits by working to improve the social enterprises in their neighbourhoods
- The center is focussed on welfare-innovation: Our approach ensures that out-of-the-box ideas will always find a place in a local culture of social enterprise.
What does a culture of social enterprises look like?
- NGOs and charities get the support they need to start successful social businesses that can improve integration, train disadvantaged young people or provide jobs to people far from the work market.
- Business people, like designers, lawyers, marketing experts and accountants have meaningful opportunities to use their skills to benefit the local community.
- Municipalities can improve their welfare offer to local people, work in partnership across sector and grow the economy by buying services from social enterprises.
- Social impacts can be measured and shared, helping local social enterprises to grow and inspiring new social entrepreneurs to get involved.
